Description: This is a hand-carved wooden snake from cottonwood root. It is 6 inches long and was carved and painted by Zuni artist Michael Chavez. I bought it in January of 2001 from Shadowland. It was kept in a display cabinet for awhile, but has been put away for many years with the rest of my Zuni and Navajo fetishes. Never exposed to smoke, perfume, scent of any kind. It has the number "18" written on the bottom in pencil, but I paid more than that for him. The snake is one of the most unique fetishes I found in the years I collected. My only wooden piece.
