Description: REAL OR FAKE??????? This camera, created in very limited quantities in 1961 as a tribute to Yuri Gagarin's accomplishment of being the first person in space. Many people believe some these YURA - Zorki cameras are fakes, as some Russian craftsmen are masters of starting with a lowly Zorki or FED and ending up with a Leica for sale on the internet. Or it might be genuine, as some people believe. It doesn't really matter. This camera is rare and should be in any Russian camera collectors inventory. Great conversation piece. This particular YURA - Zorki is #070, lens and body. The lens is 50mm, f3.5. The vulcanite is perfect. The metal parts: the bottom cover, the metal outer surfaces of the lens and all the metal on the top cover are different than the typical FED or Zorki. They have a matte finish and a "warmer" color, even the lens cap is thicker metal and fits better...it doesn't fall off like those on most FED and Zorki cameras, and it weighs 15 grams, whereas the similar size lens cap on FED-1 weighs 6 grams. On the surface of the inner flange of the lens is there is a character "scratched" in. It is either a "Y" or a "4". This camera just looks and feels better than your average Zorki or FED. I do not have the camera case. The shutter curtains are in excellent condition. Unfortunately only the slower speeds, from1/100th down to "B" work. The 2 faster speeds do not work properly. Do the research....then you can decide, is it real or not. Shipping via UPS or USPS, at Sellers choice. Thanks for looking.
