When input a little over 30W into the meter of the parent unit (FT-1000MP) at 14 MHz and 21 MHz, the power meter of the unit and an external power meter (not calibrated) confirmed an output of over 500W. If I increased the power of the parent unit any further, the protection would be activated and it would be cut off. This is a type of amplifier that comes out of this reference that can only be exited with 20 to 25 watts, but there is a lot of information on the internet on how to solve this issue and increase the excitation. It may be that interference was occurring due to my testing environment, but on the low bands, the SWR as seen from the parent unit was infinity, making it impossible to test. The antenna tuner appears to be working, but it is unclear whether it is possible to tune. Both meter lights are out. There are scratches and stains all over, but it is not sticky and there is no smell of cigarettes or pets. It is unknown whether any internal modifications have been made. The instruction manual is in pieces. Due to the above condition, I will list it as an UNTESTED for FIX item.
