I tried my best to capture an accurate color, I would say to my eyes the most accurate is the picture showing the tag, however everyone sees color differently. :) I washed it on cold after dying and wore it once after that. While wearing I didn't have any color transfer on my other clothes. However, I also don't have a lot of experience with rit dye. I would say wash on cold and perhaps just on its own for the first few times.
