Description: You are bidding on a men’s Japanese Red Cross Special Members medal. Please look closely at photos for condition of these medals as they are of the actual medal you are bidding on. These can be dated to before and during the early part of WWII. During this period these medals were made in silver. They changed to making them in aluminum and steel towards the end of WW2 when silver needed to be rationed for the war effort. Each medal measures approximately 1.2 inches across. The front has the symbol of the Japanese Red Cross Society with the Geneva cross. The back side has the society foundation date, Meiji Year 21, but this is not the actual date that the award was given. A wonderful addition to any Red Cross or military collection. Please look at the other Japanese military items we have for sale in our store. We gladly combine multiple orders to reduce overall shipping costs.
