Description: This is a nice, early World War II U.S. Model 1910 Canteen, Transitional Carrier, and Cup that is in excellent field used condition. The canteen body is constructed of molded aluminum with a vertical joint seam. The knurled metal cap is secured to the body of the canteen with a small chain that is attached to a metal band at the neck. The cork is present in the cap. There are a no dents to the body. The lower back side is stamped, “U.S. – A.G.M. CO – 1942”, for the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company. The metal cup has functional steel handle and is marked at the base, ‘U.S. - BECO – 1942’. The carrier is the early transitional type constructed of light khaki cotton duck canvas with both closure snaps remaining functional and undamaged. The edges of the flaps are reinforced with OD green color canvas as is correct for the transitional model carriers. The front is not marked and appears it never was. The lower part of the back side is lightly marked, ‘J. A. SHOE - 1941. The wire bale is sewn firmly in place and is undamaged. This remains a fine example of the first type World War II produced canteen in a transitional carrier that is in excellent field used condition. 9006
