Description: WWII Era US Army M1928 Haversack Pack - Early Khaki Color - Complete - Marked: BOYT -42- Nice Condition Up for sale is a WWII Era US Army M1928 Haversack Pack. This pack is the Khaki color. It is marked: BOYT -42- on the rear. The haversack is complete with all of the shoulder straps and the securing straps, buckles and snap hooks. The haversack is used, see photo's for condition. No rips or tears. Some rust spots on the straps and hardware. Some minor soiling from storage and handling over the past 75 years. NICE overall condition. A very nice representative example that has that "Been There" look without any abuse or major damage The Haversack was used from before WWI up through the middle of WWII as the standard pack system for the US Army. Technically is is NOT a pack. It is not fully enclosed like a pack, but rather wraps around the items to be stored. This makes it able to accommodate a large or small number of items. A pack tail was added to this system in order to accommodate longer items, such as a blanket. There was also a "meat can pouch" that was added to the upper flap to secure the mess kit and utensils for easy access. This is a necessary item for any WWII Field Gear Collection. Please see photos.
