WWII Era M1 Carbine IO (OI Overton for Inland) Type II Oval Cut High Wood Stock

Description: Here is an original M1 Carbine stock. It is a high wood, oval cut Type 2 stock. Stamped IO (OI) in the sling well, which was made by Overton for Inland. No other apparent stamps or cartouches. Stock looks to have been lightly sanded and refinished in the past, and there is a reglued chip in front of the recoil plate escutcheon nut that I have shown in the photos - this sometimes happens when people attempt to remove the nut (which is included in this stock). The O portion of the stamp is a bit distorted. I suspect whoever had this stock previously didnt want to sand around the stamp (and thus left the deeper scratches, including the light gouge that looks like part of the O, or alternatively they tried to complete the O but did so poorly.
