Inspector Initials - Very Nice Condition - RARE Up for sale is WWI AEF US Army M1916 Leather Belt Holster for the Colt M1911 45acp Pistol. This is a vintage old military belt holster. It is used, see photo's for Condition. The leather is still soft & supple. All the stitching is intact and not fraying. Some minor surface cracks and wrinkling of the leather on the flap. It still has the internal leather block. The leather has darkened somewhat with age, but still retains that rich dark brown color. It is clear marked US in an oval logo on the flap. On the rear it is marked: HOYT 1917 with J.J.M. inspector initials on the rear. The manufacturer's markings are crisp and visible. Some minor wear to the leather on the rear, see photos. Hard to find these early holsters in this condition. This is a Very NICE example of a WWI holster. This would make a welcomed addition to any WWI AEF Collection.
