Description: This is a 'Buy it Now' for a World War One 1914-15 Star Trio and Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, awarded to a Gunner who served with the Royal Garrison Artillery and died shortly after the war in December 1921. The medals all have officially impressed naming as follows: 1914-15 Star - 4694, GNR. G. JUPP. R.G.A. British War and Victory Medal - 7694 GNR. G. JUPP. R.A. Army LS&GC Medal (GvR 1st issue) - 7694 CNR. G. JUPP. R.G.A. All medals confirmed on Rolls and mounted as worn on a pin bar. Note incorrect spelling of GNR on the LS Medal. George Jupp served with the Royal Garrison Artillery, service number 4694, which was later changed to 1400736. There's an entry in the 1911 Census for a Gunner George Jupp with his age given as twenty-three, serving with 84 Coy, Royal Garrison Artillery at Palace Barracks, Simonstown in South Africa, this notes he was born in Aldershot. George Jupp first enters the Theatre of War (5a) in Mesopotamia on 18 December 1915, serving with 77 Heavy Battery, R.G.A. He appears to serve for the whole war in Mesopotamia, and on 1st July 1919 he received his Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (Army Order 36 of 1919). George got married on 17 August 1918 at St Thomas Parish Church in Bootle to Daisy Harrison (born 7 Nov 1890), with George's occupation noted as Soldier. We can find no entry for George in the Silver War Badge Roll, but there are three Pension Ledger Cards issued for him under both his service numbers, 7694 and 1400736. They tell us that he died on 22 December 1921, with his wife Daisy listed as living at 56 Corinthian Street in Seaforth, Merseyside, and 23 Kipling Street, Bootle on another. George's death was Registered in Liverpool in the last quarter of 1921. More research certainly required. The medals are in good VF condition or better and come mounted on a pin bar with original ribbons. Documents included his Medal Index Card, the medals rolls for his 1914-15 Star, the BWM and VM and his entry in the Army Long Service and Good Conduct Roll. Also included are his three Pension Ledger Cards. The 1911 Census on two pages his marriage banns and registration, along with his death registration. Twelve pages in total which we can email to the buyer or put it onto a CD. Any questions please by all means send us an email, which can be found below in the Business Seller Information details.
