Description: WW2 RAF Thermos Flask Repro Label. This is a new reproduction of the original WW2 label that went on the front of Air Ministry issue Thermos flasks. These flasks were often issued to bomber crews, airborne troops and tank crews, and were designed to keep either drinks or food warm for the duration of their mission. These flasks are really lovely items but it is very rare to find any examples with complete labels. This is a high quality reproduction that uses the same font, sizings, spacings and colours as the original, and it has been produced by cross referencing hundreds of surviving examples of partial labels with millimetre precision. I first created this reproduction because I bought a flask myself that only had the outline of a label, and because I often display my items in museums, I wanted a complete label to give people an idea of how it would have looked originally. The example shown on the flask in the photos is aged, but as standard I will send an unaged label. Please note this listing is only for a reproduction label, not the flask as well. I only included a photo of my flask to show the label in situ. The last photo shows what you will receive, without the "Example" overprint. The label is not self-adhesive, the best method I have found for attaching it is using a small amount of PVA glue around the edges.
