Description: You are bidding on a SUPERB example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe 0-6 km Grobhöhenmesser (Rough Altimeter), Fl. 22317, as ONLY used in German Dive-Bombers and Night Fighters, such as the Me109 G/R6, Ju87, Ju88 and Me110! This instrument measured the altitude of the aircraft using the surrounding air pressure. This was a secondary altimeter that worked in conjunction with the automatic dive alarm. The pilot would set this altimeter to the correct height in which he wished to pull out of a diving bomb run. Once the aircraft reached that altitude, the aircraft would automatically pull out of the dive and return to parallel flight. It was located on the main instrument panel of the Ju87, Ju88, Me109, Me110, and other destroyer (ground attack) aircraft. Made of bakelite, aluminum and steel, this item is in EXCELLENT used condition! Though there are some slight marks and wear due to the age, there are no breaks or damage! All the adjustment knobs function 100% correctly, and the Fl. number is 100% complete on the dial, clearly indicating Fl. 22317. The blue BA inspection stamp is late-war, and being over top of where the data label would have been, suggests that this was made in 1945, and without the rear labels. I have indicated it's location in the last photos. A SUPERB addition to any project, collection, or display! Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
