Description: Original WW2 GERMAN Map entitled "SZOMBATHELY (STEINAMANGER)". The map covers an area where the borders of YUGOSLAVIA, HUNGARY & ANNEXED AUSTRIA meet. It's headed "Nur für den Dienstgebrauch" (equivalent to a "RESTRICTED" British military map). Printed in July 1940. In great condition with some margin trimming having taken place at some point in its history. From a large collection recently sold off by Edinburgh University - hence ink stamping to margin. (Following both World Wars, the government distributed excess stocks of Allied maps, along with captured enemy examples, to various national institutions such as libraries, museums, universities etc.) Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines.
