Description: WW1 TRENCH ART ROYAL ARTILLERY BRASS/COPPER PEAKED CAP FROM 18PDR MK2 SHELL CASE Click images to enlarge Description A WW1 trench art brass & copper peaked cap bearing the etched insignia of the Royal Artillery. The cap is made from an 18 pdr Mk2 shell case dated 9/15 (September 1915) with primer dated 6/17 (June 1917). The shell case is 100 mm (4 in) diameter & the cap weighs 1ib 9oz. The band is copper retained with military buttons at either end. The peak and back have an etched design. The cap has a nice patina and has been lovingly polished over the years with residue in evidence around the band. I am pleased to combine shipping when possible.
