Description: Up for auction is a WW1 Hand Made Trench Art Letter Opener. The handle is made from an empty bullet shell, and it is ornamented with an insignia / badge of ALBERT that was the main town behind the lines for the Allies on the 1916 Somme battlefields. The bottom side of the shell has an ornamented flower. No text or date. Measuring 20 cm long (about 8¾") Condition: In fair condition showing surface wear and age patina. The bullet shell has a small hair-line crack. Obviously this item captures a time and place in WW1 History and has a nice historical importance. This item is ideal for any collector of vintage Trench-Art. Do not let this item slip through your fingers!
