Description: World Wide Art Studios Collector's Plate featuring Houston's San Jacinto Museum and Monument. Plate is a ~10 in. diameter beige ceramic with a metallic gold edge applied to the front. The front artwork is a dark red sketched image of the San Jacinto Museum and Monument near Houston, Texas. An inscription on the plate back reads: "San Jacinto Museum and Monument, located on the Houston ship channel near Houston, Texas, is the site of the famous battle between the Texas Army of 910 Americans, led by General Sam Houston, and the Mexican Army of over 1200 men, led by General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, which, in 18 minutes on April 21, 1836, won independence for Texas. After the victory, Sam Houston was elected the first president of the new republic of Texas." Beneath the inscription is the World Wide Art Studios logo and location (Covington, Tennessee). The plate is in excellent condition, and has no apparent scratches, chips, or other damage.
