Description: Here is a rare handcrafted ceramic cardholder which was created by women inmates at the Sibyl Brand Jail.1990s vintage. This appears to be a presentation piece to Dr. Jean Carlin, who I believe was a prominent doctor. You can see the words "Florentine Art Studio" stamped into the base, which I would think would make it more desirable. Measures approximately 6" tall x 6" long x 3" thick. If you look carefully, you will notice that there are a few tiny flecks of missing paint. Very minor in nature. I would describe the overall condition as very good, especially for such an unusual/rare piece. The base is a beautiful and vibrant green. I believe the jail is somewhat of a historical site.
