Description: This 1939 edition of The Wizard of Oz by L Frank Baum is in excellent condition. This printing was done by the Bobbs Merrill company to capitalize on the popularity of the famous 1939 film. The binding is tight, gutters intact, printed cover illustration clean and legible with minor wear; all color plates are present. Featuring green cloth covers, it is clean throughout. The rear endpaper has a crease from being folded; pages 3-6 were mis-trimmed during binding and have a jagged edge. Some slight foxing is apparent in the paper stock, as is typical. The cover measures 7.25” x 9.75”, the text block measures 6.6” x 9.4”, 208 pages. A lovely later copy in excellent condition ready to join your collection.
