The book comprised of 33 speeches from early 1945 through the latter months of the Second World War including during Victory and the period immediately after including Germans surrender in Italy and Austria, “This is Your Victory”, Campaign Stars, Syria and Lebanon, Negotiations with Vichy and U-Boat Warfare. In addition are 9 key speeches during the 1945 General Election and FIVE speeches from July to August 1945 relating to the war including “Dear Desert Rats”, Terms for Japan and The Atomic Bomb. It was published by Cassell and Company Ltd., of London, and is the 1946 FIRST EDITION (stated). The book measures 8.75 inches x 5.75 inches and has 239 pages + illustrations. The book is in good, neat condition for its age, with minor wear/bumps to the original cloth hardback cover, with a previous owner’s gift inscription at the back, heavy foxing near the covers/rims, and no other ink or pencil markings in the book.
