Description: Beautiful six volume set, complete and in excellent vintage condition. Houghton Mifflin, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1950, 1951, and 1953. The photographs of the first volume are representative of the condition of all of the books. They have very clean endpapers, no markings, practically no soiling, only light signs of age. These are from a non-smoking home and the books have crisp titles on the spines along with gold lettering which is predominantly bold and intact. The signatures on the covers are generally excellent and intact as well. One of the better condition sets I’ve ever come across of this series. The books were stored in a barrister bookcase cabinet with a glass front for much of their life, which is why they were not exposed to much of the environment. Volume six has a 1953 date on the title page, which signifies that it is a first edition, because Houghton Mifflin added the date to the title page for its first editions. Bindings are good to very good and this set was mostly kept on display rather than read. This will be professionally packaged for protection during transit. International shipping is available as well. If you have any questions please feel free to message me.
