This is a particularly special children's classic, as it was created by a father for his child, and it feels like it. Densely illustrated by the iconic Pooh illustrator, E.H. Shepard, and featuring tales of all the beloved Winnie-the-Pooh characters, this book is a delightful classic. Silk-bound and gilt-impressed binding features gilt at top of text block (to keep dust out). It comes complete with a very special facsimile dust jacket you can only get here, remastered and printed on a heavyweight honey sheet of ph-neutral, vellum-textured French art paper. Comes with a facsimile of the original advertising leaflet Milne's UK publisher inserted with Winnie the Pooh. Boards have edgewear, light soiling, and wrinkles at rear (please see pics.) Endpapers bear a period bookseller's label and a rubber stamp of a previous owner. Rear gutter has about an inch of separation. Half-title page (page preceding the title page bearing just the title) is period-inscribed. Binding is very tight and square; text and illustrations are very clean, bright, and crisp. 159 pages, measures approximately 7.5 x 5.25-inches.
