Description: WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY Terry Murphy CD Colin Paige 1998 Detroit jazz Celtic This is “The Wind That Shakes the Barley,” a previously-owned self-titled CD manufactured independently in 1998. It is in great shape (double-checked) and plays through perfectly. The Wind That Shakes the Barley was a short-lived project that featured Detroit area Irish musicians Terry Murphy, Colin Paige, and Gerard Smith. They combine Celtic influences, jazz, folk and rock elements for an eclectic listening experience. They recently sat in with the Detroit-based Diggers. Of note, Smith has also played with the traditional Irish trioThe Bowzies and the non-traditional Celtic and progressive rock-influenced band, Bill Grogan’s Goat. He also released his debut solo album entitled “Hamtramck:Heaven” as an ode to the Detroit enclave.
