Description: This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting the Pre-Broadway engagement of the Sixteenth and final edition of the musical revue "THE PASSING SHOW" at the Erlanger Theatre in Chicago, Illinois beginning January 7th, 1946. (The production opened November 9th, 1945 in Hartford, Connecticut and closed February 17th, 1946 in Chicago, failing to arrive on Broadway.) ..... "The Passing Show" began in 1912 (not counting an 1894 production at the Casino Theatre) as an annual Winter Garden Extravaganza. The 1945 edition starred WILLIE HOWARD, who appeared in the original 1912 production and in nearly every other succeeding edition. Featured in the cast were SUE RYAN, BOBBY MORRIS, DICK BUCKLEY, BOB RUSSELL, JOHN MASTERS and ROWENS ROLLINS, BETTY LUSTER, MIMI KELLERMAN, RUTH DAVIS, RUTH CLAYTON, GIL JOHNSON, SYLVIA RUSSELL and 40 GORGEOUS MODELS .....
