Description: William Galison & Madeleine PeyrouxGot You on my Mind Chromatic Harmonica, Guitar, Vocals Got You on My Mind is a jazz & pop album by William Galison and Madeleine Peyroux, featuring recordings originally completed in 1999, and finally released as an album nearly 5 years later. Galison is a great chromatic harmonica player. Despite being initially (and controversially) blocked from mainstream release by Rounder, Galison found success by independently releasing the material on his own Waking Up Music imprint, shortly thereafter seeking out distribution from Morphius Records, who helped the album find its way to wide audiences worldwide through its distribution network, particularly in French speaking countries. Madeleine's French language vocals on "J'ai Deux Amours" along with her version of "The Way You Look Tonight" have been highly praised by critics, some of whom consider her collaboration with Galison a high water mark of Peyroux's illustrious career and a more pure and genuine representation of her talent than the 'Careless Love' album which they preceded. The album is made up of a wide variety of material, ranging from jazz standards like Jerome Kern and Dorothy Fields' "The Way You Look Tonight" to pop songs like John Lennon's "Jealous Guy"; and containing originals by Galison and one by Galison and Peyroux. Instrumentation is also varied, with Galison himself playing six different instruments. Two of the songs are earlier recordings of songs Peyroux later released on Careless Love.
