Description: This vintage, and possibly antique, straight edge razor belonged to my paternal grandfather (b. 1880). It is marked Wm. Elliot & Co. Made in Germany with the number 21 on the tang. I believe the handle (scales) are celluloid based on my online research. There is a crack on the scales by the pivot pin, as per photos. The straight edge would need to be reconditioned before using to shave with, as per photos. When opened it is 9.5" L and 6" L when closed. The blade length (not including the tang) is 2 7/8" L x 5/8" H. I saw the same make and number "with good condition scales" and "minor pitting on the tang" sold for $287.00. The buyer of my item might make a nice profit if they wanted to recondition this one and resell. The Wm. Elliot razor has been stored in is a H. Boker & Company box. Under the name it states: Unrivaled Razor. It is 6.5" L x 1.25" W x approx. 0.5" H. For as long as my father & then I have had the razor (grandfather died in 1964) it has been in this box, so my guess is that it is also the box my grandfather had it in. The box is in good condition for its age, as per the photos. The razor and box are being sold together. Please look at all of the photos as a sale is final with no return. Pay Pal only.
