Please excuse any glare in the photos. This charming painting depicts a portrait of a weasel. The critter is looking over a snow-covered wood pile. The painting is housed in a black and brown wood frame which is newer than the artwork. The exterior frame measurements are approximately 13 3/8 inches by 11 3/8 inches. The board measures about 9 7/8 inches by 7 7/8 inches. Unpacked, this item weighs 1 pound 11.7 ounces. This would be a great addition to a collection of American fine art. Identification This piece is by the listed artist, William "Bill" Bailey (1944 - ). It is dated "87" for 1987. Per askART, Bailey was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He spent the summers of his teenaged years working on cattle ranches, where he developed an affinity for western outdoor life. He was the youngest professional artist in the Flathead Valley of Montana. He is known for oil paintings of wildlife, Native Americans, cowboys, and western landscapes. Condition This item looks great overall. The painting is without damage. The frame has very light wear. In my opinion, this piece is ready to hang and enjoy.
