Description: We are pleased to offer a handsome quadruple silverplated shaving mug from Wilcox Silverplate Co. The piece is are marked quadruple is estimated to have been made in the mid 1880s to 1890. The decorations are a lush floral motif with beading around the rims. There is an insert made to hold the soap with a hole for the brush that fits onto the rim. It's a nice find!Condition: Very well used; virtually all of the plating has worn away. There is plate wear inside the cup as well due to soap and the brush use. It's a fabulous example of the genre. There are no monograms and the pattern is crisp and well defined. Size: 5 1/8" tall, 3 3/8" diameter at bottom. Please visit Hi Ho Silverplate, our ebay store, for lots of silverplate including flatware, holloware and other antiques - check out our other items!
