Description: Up for sale a Whiting Manufacturing Company sterling silver Louis XV salad serving spoon. The Louis XV pattern was introduced by Whiting in 1891. The Louis XV pattern is in the Rococo style with a profusion of c-scrolls down the edge of the serving spoon. The salad serving spoon has an elaborate and beautifully engraved monogram of the initials SAS. The spoon measures 9" in length and weighs 72.6 grams. It is marked on the reverse with the Whiting mark, sterling and pat. 1891. Good antique condition with a small dimple depression on the back of the bowl and also seen from the front. See photos.
