Description: Authentic vintage 'Whippy' 16.5" competition horse riding saddle in good condition. Whippy is a historic English saddle dating back to the 1700's who is no longer in business. They are known as a comfortable high end saddle, among the best for competition. This saddle is more of a collectors item, but could be used for riding after some work. The leather would need to be reconditioned for use, but overall looks great in its current condition for display. The saddle is complete, would make a great decoration or show piece. There are no holes or tears in the leather. Stitching is in place and solid. Leather straps are all functional, a little rust starting on some of the brackets. All saddle hardware and straps are there, all solid and sturdy. Minor scuffs from light use. Stirrups are strong and will hold up. Overall a beautiful leather saddle ready for a new home.
