He was born and educated in Austria. His association with Weller began in 1905; Weller soon recognized his abilities, and placed him in charge of designing new lines—-a position he maintained until the 1930s. Some of his most important works were “ Roma”, Forest, Flemish, Zone, Muskota, Ivory, Knifewood and Ting…and many many others. The Forest was designed by Rudolph Lorber, inspired by the country side scenery he once observed from the window of train. The matt glazing is typical; only rarely will find an example done in a high gloss glaze. This Interesting and Beautiful Roseville Pottery Forest Jardiniere/ Planter Matte Glazed. Colors ; Green / Brown and Blue. Typical marks ; with artist initial ? black ink and has a hole at the base. Measure is about 7.5” tall, 8.5” wide on the opening and 6” wide at the base. There is some little chipped and scratches on the body as old age ( see all in the pictures ) great mold and rarely.
