Description: Circa early 1900's, this Frederick H. Rhead designed Jap Birdimal vase for Weller Pottery is 11.75" tall by 5.25" in diameter. Finished in an orange-brown colored glossy glaze, it features an ornately dressed woman in robes, hat and umbrella. Decoration at the top and bottom, it is in factory original condition. No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs, there is a factory indentation at the bottom rim and another in one of the grasses. Artist initialed, unmarked, the same shape can be found on page 190 in Weller Pottery A Clearer Vision by Frank Norman. A very nice Rhead designed Weller Jap Birdimal vase to add to your collection.
