Description: This antique Wedgwood Portland Blue Jasperware creamer is a beautiful addition to any collection. Made in 1883, this pitcher measures approximately 2.5 inches high, with a 3 inch opening and a base of 3 inches and features a stunning deep blue color. The handle is decorated with acanthus leaves, and the spout is molded with an acanthus leaf. The sides contain flowers and classical Greek mythology references. Wedgwood started impressing “England” on its jasperware starting in 1891. This pitcher is not impressed with “England” making its manufacture prior to that date. It has a date letter of “L” for 1883. The item is an antique and sold as is. It may show wear, fading, firing imperfections, pitting, staining, chips, cracks and damage from wear. In particular, I note what appears to be a very small chip to spout as shown on the photos. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
