The back has hook-and-eye closure, zipper, and covered decorative buttons that go all the way down the train. There are white satin straps included if you prefer not to go strapless. This is in fantastic condition save for the easily-mended tear I put in the train while trying to set up the shoot. This has never been worn to an event and no alterations have been made.
