Description: A wonderful example of miniature Art Nouveau jewelry, this little doll size sterling cloisonné pin by Watson features a red poinsettia and green curling leaves on a white guilloche background. Brass pin stem with a standard roll-over clasp. Measurements: the little pin measures a mere 1-1/8" wide x 3/16" high. Penny in photo for size comparison. Markings: the back is marked with the words Genuine Cloisonne, the Watson Company hallmark, and sterling. Condition: there is one petal on the flower that is not filled with enamel (it is a bit difficult to see because it is dark with patina), this was simply a mistake made during the enameling process and not damage. Red is a notoriously difficult color to fire properly as too much heat or too many firings turn the enamel brown. So I assume that when the empty cloison or cell was discovered, it was too late to fill and re-fire. 12466
