Description: Official Guide - New York World's Fair 1964/1965 Author: (Disneyana) DISNEY, Walt; et al. Title: Official Guide - New York World's Fair 1964/1965 Publication: New York: Time Incorporated, 1964 Edition: First Edition, First Printing Description: First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. 5 X 8 Inches. 312 PP. Very Good. An overlooked classic of the Disney genre! The 1964 New York World's Fair was a "training ground" for Disney and his Tomorrowland visions that would later be realized at Disneyworld. There are no less than four major exhibits at the fair that were influened by Disney. Most importantly, the original "It's a Small World" made it's debut at the fair. This ride was featured as part of the Pepsi-Cola sponsored pavillion and is directly credited to Disney in the guide. The second most important Disney influence here is the "Carousel of Progress." The very same Carousel is now a ride at Disneyworld in Orlando. Interestingly, the New York World's Fair itself was the original basis for what would become Epcot! Original price of $1.00 intact on front cover. Slight wear and one crease to front cover. Spine remains unbroken. AN UNUSUALLY ATTRACTIVE COPY.
