Description: Wadena is a city in Otter Tail and Wadena counties in the state of Minnesota. It is about 160 miles northwest of Minneapolis – Saint Paul metro area. The population was 4,325 in 2020. It is the county seat of Wadena County. The first permanent settlement at Wadena was made in 1871 and was named after Chief Wadena, an Ojibwe Indian Chief. A post office has been in operation at Wadena since 1873 and the city was incorporated in 1881. Four properties are listed on the National Register of Historic Places: the “Commercial Hotel” built circa 1885, the “Wadena Fire and City Hall” built in 1912, the “Northern Pacific Passenger Depot, built in 1915, and the “Peterson-Biddick Seed and Feed”, built 1916-1936. This is a “Curt Teich” undivided back card with an image of “Third Street” in “Wadena Minnesota” around c 1900s. There are store fronts with awnings, a few horses and buggies and men on the sidewalk, a water tower and what I think is the "Commercial Hotel" on the right foreground. The card is in excellent condition with minor wear and a clean clear image and reverse.
