These are sure to draw some oohs & ahhs. They are 12'5" tall, weighted, hallmarked, and are adorned with a luscious grape and leave design in repousse detail. The base is a huge 5 3/4" across. Lawrence B. Smith founded his silver company in 1887 in Boston, Massachusetts, which at the time was an important silver manufacturing center. The company made sterling and plated silver items until c. 1958. LBS employed a variety of plating techniques including the Sheffield process.
