About the design:Lovely leaf design on an off-white background with bamboo struts - see photos. About the fans:This is one of a large collection of vintage fans we have acquired that were stock from an old fan shop in Kyoto. They are the printed, washi-paper type that Japanese women carry with them in warm weather. They are very intricately hand-made and have floral or nature motifs on one side and are blank on the back. Some have strings with a bead. The bamboo struts are a natural, un-lacquered die-cut design. Most are unused but as they have been stored for many years, may have discoloration or other issues from age. We have multiples of some of the designs and the listing will indicate this. Most were produced in the 1960’s - 1980’s but some are newer.
