Description: Up for your consideration is this SPECTACULAR vintage torsade necklace! This piece consists of 7 strands of natural Mediterranean red coral beads. The color is deep and saturated, and 100% natural and untreated. The coral beads graduate in size from approximately 4mm up to 7mm in diameter. The surfaces of the beads have a lovely polish and lustre! These coral beads are of very high quality! This necklace was photographed under direct natural sunlight.This necklace measures approximately 17 1/2" long in overall wearable length (shorter when twisted depending on how tightly you twist it), and is finished with a very substantial solid 18K yellow gold and large antique Chinese carved coral bead clasp. The clasp measures approximately 22mm long by 18mm wide. The carved bead on the clasp measures approximately 14mm by 18mm! The clasp alone is hallmarked 750 18K on the hidden tongue, as well as an infinity knot impression.Overall this necklace weighs a hefty 103 grams on my digital scale and is in overall EXCEPTIONAL condition.The large carved coral bead on the clasp has an old repair to a crack as is visible in the closeup photos of it. This is minor, does not distract, and the beads is in stable condition. What a STUNNING piece!
