Description: An incredible and rare necklace from my husband’s grandmother’s jewelry collection! Signed on back - a bunch of placer gold nuggets make up an adorable cabin in the woods scene. As I’ve mentioned before, she was born in 1924 and her and her husband owned a cabin out here in the Black Hills and loved gold and everything that went with it! My local goldsmith jeweler said the gold used in this necklace are placer gold nuggets which are 92% pure. The maker used 10k gold for the base stamp and placer gold nuggets to create the scene. You can see the raised nuggets and contours of the scene. It’s nearly 3/4” in diameter. The pendant weighs 1.08g. Jeweler said this piece would be nearly impossible to recreate. 92% gold = 22 karat - has a very rich yellow hue that is the closest to pure gold. There’s a mark on the chain clasp “ACo” which dates to Circa 1898. Company was out of Attleboro, MA, and later became Swank, Inc. (Rainwater). Will be shipped in protective case!
