Description: This is a genuine old Germany, Bavaria, demitasse set. Belonged to my father-in-law who came over from Stuttgart Germany in 1918 to escape Germany's war. He made many return trips to the homeland and often brought back family treasures. I suspect that this is probably pre-1940 when we were still calling parts of Germany "Bavaria", as it is marked Bavaria Porzellen and it has a crown hallmark. The set consist of service for 12 - so there are 12 saucers and 12 little coffee cups, a coffee pot with a lid, of sugar bowl with a lid, and a creamer. The design is very romantic and was so popular at the time. Each piece is trimmed in gold, I suspect it's 24 karat gold, and the design of the couple is most likely transfer ware. The pieces are marked, and I cannot identify the actual name of the manufacturer, but it appears to be depicting a crown. I find no cracks, no chips, or repairs to this set. Please note it is handmade. The gold trim is hand applied and it looks beautiful to me. My father-in-law actually would bring this out on Christmas Eve and after we all had enough plum wine and schnapps, he would sober us up with strong black coffee. Please view all the photos.
