Description: Vtg 80s IIF Ladies Red Avant Garde Peplum Jacket M. Purchased from a lady’s wardrobe in Massachusetts. She worked as a circus performer!!! Mainly red avant- garde style jacket, with white inset panels at the side seams for shape. On the back there is a deliberate split, because she waved her arms around a lot, and inside this is white fabric. A peplum style waist nipping fit with the flared area handing longer at the front than the back. What makes this jacket, like other IFF jackets I’ve seen is the careful adornment of detailed pattern work across the back and each front shoulder. It comprises embroidery, sequins, pearls, jet beads, and rhinestones. Front fastening is with three press studs (red) and whilst there are four belt loops around the waist of the jacket, alas there is no belt. Measurements. Bust. 41inches Waist 30inches Length. 23.5inches Condition is "Pre-Owned". The jacket shows minimal signs of wear but could do with a freshen up at a reputable dry cleaner. Areas of white have slight discolouration which I have seen on other garments, and is often the sizing in the fabric, for stiffening that has yellowed over time because it is in fact a starch.
