In 1947, he would often spend time on his uncles' Utah ranches where life long memories and great experiences were gained from people, animals and the American way of life. The times spent living and working with his uncles on their farms, ranches and their logging and coal mining projects were experiences he cherished and drew from to portray later in his life, the American West in miniature sculpture. He was a jockey for two years and held other jobs including that of electrician, farmer, commercial artist and teacher. He also studied foundry work and in 1969, he began working in miniature bronze, loving the ability to hold his work in one hand. He became a sculptor of miniature cowboys and horses at a time when large size works of those themes were much more popular. His work has been cast in various materials, with collectors throughout the world. He has commissioned work for the Franklin Mint, American Express, and the Lance/Chilmark Company, as well as starting his own collectors' club known as the Polland Collectors Society. His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, including: C.M. Russell Museum, Whitney Museum of Western Art (Buffalo Bill Historical Center), and Favell Museum of Western Art.INSURANCE ON TRANSIT REQUIREDYour shipment will arrive via USPS Priority Mail (1-4 business days), USPS Ground Advantage (2-5 business days) or UPS Ground (1-5 business days), after the 2-3 day processing time (upon paid purchase)Shipment(s) sent out of Lemon Grove, California, USAWill be packed very well - READ OUR FEEDBACK!No Returns ***AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT AFTER PURCHASE, WHICH MAY REFLECT A MORE ACCURATE POSTAGE RATE FOR THIS ITEM - DON'T PASS THIS UP YET!
