Description: Vintage 1980 STROH'S Beer National Republican Convention Framed Advertising Bar Mirror. Still in it's original frame, this advertising mirror for Stroh's Beer measures 21 x 14 inches. Stroh's Beer was established in Detroit, Michigan in 1850. Stroh's Beer was happy to advertise for the GOP National Republican Convention was held at the Joe Louis Arena from July 14- july 17th 1980 where former actor and governor Ronald Reagan delivered his acceptance speech when he was nominated as candidate for President by the Republican Party. Of course we all Know Ronald Reagan went on to win the election. In the corner's of the mirror were featured former Republican leaders: Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower and president Taft. One wonders if Stroh's Beer slyly imagined that when it came to the government that two heads were better than one... as long as one of those was the head of a Stroch's beer? Fast forward 45 years and Republicans are back in power and Stroh's beer is still in the game where "cool heads" usually prevail. The mirror is a snapshot in time for American beer advertising mixed with American Politics. Very good vintage condition. The Stroh's Beer Advertising Mirror is in it;s original wooden frame. Stroh's Brewery name and address is printed on the back of the framed mirror. Mirror and frame shows normal minimal wear. Please see all photos for details and condition.
