HERE WE HAVE: A vintage (c1970s) Sony model ICF-9550W radio! The back notes "AM/FM 2band radio 1IC 8 transistors". CONDITION: Being sold as is, for parts or repair. I plugged it into a Variac to test, and it does power on and I'm able to get stations to come in pretty clearly on both AM & FM. I would say the higher numbered stations came in better than lower ones. There is a humming sound that seemed to come and go. It originally stopped when I switched the "loudness" setting to off but then it came back when I went to lower channels. The humming stopped again when I powered off and on again. I'm not sure what is causing that or how to correct it. When it wasn't humming, the sound was clear and the treble/bass dials seemed to adjust well. Tuning and volume knobs spin smoothly, but there's some crackling when moving the dials, so may need cleaned up. There are scuffs, surface scratches, discoloration/color loss, and general wear scattered throughout. Will come exactly as shown, so please see photos!
