Description: VINTAGE 1970s cotton gauzy dress. (Brand: "GEETA".) These dresses were what everyone was wearing in the 70s when they wanted to have that carefree, hippie look. Today, they are RETRO CHIC -- perfect for festivals, Coachella, concerts, vacations, summertime, picnics, going to art galleries, anything at all that is FUN! Most of these types of 1970s cotton-gauze dresses were made in India or Pakistan since an appreciation of the South Asian culture was popular among the youth culture in the late-60s and the 70s. Think The Beatles and the Maharishi, George Harrison learning the sitar from Ravi Shankar, mysticism, Woodstock, the whole cool experimental lifestyle, respecting Mother Earth, and being one with nature and the universe.... SIZING: The "GEETA"-brand dresses were made in India. They are cool and sooo comfortable. But don't be fooled by the 1970s sizes...everything was smaller back then, so look at the measurements in the pictures provided. The dress is nice and roomy in the waist and hips because it cascades down from the bust line. You can wear this dress with a light sweater, over a t-shirt, or sleeveless. These look FANTASTIC with retro hippie macrame belts or leather belts worn lower down towards the hips, which I will also be listing shortly. Wear this dress with a pair of cowboy boots and a denim vest, and wow, it looks great. Or just wear the dress with some sandals -- you'll feel so comfortable since these dresses are loose and flowing from the bust down, and you'll look effortlessly boho chic. This dress has been washed and worn many times, and has held up great. The colors may have faded a bit, but who wants to look like the dress just came out of a factory? These dresses have lived. A few threads may be starting to fray on the inside seams, but that is to be expected in a dress that is 50 years old. They are remarkably durable for being so light, gauzy and nice feeling to the touch. If there are any major flaws, I will list them below. If nothing is listed, you can wear it as soon as you get it! To wash, I always just pop it in a mesh laundry bag to protect it, then wash it in cold water, and then hang it to dry. It dries fast because it is a light fabric. Or you can follow the instructions on the back of the label. NOT A FLAW, but I'm pointing it out: In the 4th photo, there is a spot on the dress that looks like an ink dot. It's actually a tiny dye spot from the dye on the dress. I am listing my entire inventory of vintage 1970s festival dresses, so be sure to check out my eBay store in the days to come if you're interested in more colors, patterns and variations on this style. Once they are gone, I won't be listing any more. The color is a Maroon-ish Brown. Please note: the brightness of the fabric colors may differ from monitor to monitor. All dresses will be shipped FREE via USPS Ground Advantage. ***Thanks for looking, and be sure to check out my other 1970s cotton hippie dresses in my eBay store if you're interested!***
