Description: This vintage set of three black and white photos captures the scene of American military football game held in Stade Buffalo (Buffalo Stadium) in Paris, France in November 1945. The game was played between the “Engineers” and the “Medics.” The stadium was a cycling venue with a track infield large enough for football matches. Found no record of this specific game anywhere else; this may be an important documentation of the event. There was a similar game that took place in Paris the prior year see “Parc des Princes Bowl.” Two of the images are from the football game proper. The notes on the back explain which team wore which uniforms, and describes a Medics player doing an end run. The third picture is described as a soccer game of French players playing while riding motorcycles (and surprisingly well) during halftime. The snapshots are printed on glossy paper and measure 3.5 x 4.5 inches. They depict the military personnel, the packed Paris stadium, and the game's spectators. The photos in the lot are original and one-of-a-kind (OOAK). They capture a special moment of celebration after the end of hostilities in World War 2. They are in very good condition. They would do well to be scanned and enlarged. See photos provided for final word on condition and the content of the notes/captions.
