Description: Rare Vintage 1942 Comic Strip Style Children's Book "Freddie" by Frank A Reilly, Illustrated by Donald Gunn. This almost has to have been an influence on Calvin & Hobbes, it is a meta-story of a character "Freddie" who has a job working in comic strips. He is a hyper-imaginative child with cowboy and spaceman heroes, he daydreams about his pet cat turning into a tiger. The llustrations are beautiful, the story is funny. I can't really find much information about this book anywhere, but it is great. Excellent condition, some very light normal wear, but for an 80-year old book, remarkably well-preserved. Non-smoking home.Flat U.S. Shipping.
