The pump housing is the same size as the original and will replace the old part without any modifications, but a few improvements to the pump itself have been made. Our fuel pump is a NIPPON DENSO rotary vane type pump NOT BOSCH roller vane . WHY? Because we know that the volume of fuel has to be slightly higher to have your Volvo run properly if the fuel that you are using contains ALCOHOL.| Most gasoline sold at stations in the USA has a good percentage of ALCOHOL in it.Later model Volvos, after 2000 are fitted with that alcohol compatible Nippon denso type of fuel pump. When the Volvo 850 models and early S70 were built- there was no question about the alcohol content in the gasoline. There was so little of it... This combination works perfectly and has been tested on the later model Volvos. This pump will work perfectly on your 850 s70 v70 up to 2000 .Unfortunately, this fuel pump assembly will not fit the all wheel drive Volvo (AWD) - it has a different design gas tank and the fuel pump.SORRY!
