Description: This is a rare July 23rd, 1957 playbill from the one-week, Summer Stock engagement of the JOHN COLTON and CLEMENCE RANDOLPH play "RAIN" at the Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point, New Jersey. (The production opened November 9th, 1955 at the Lyceum Theatre in New York City and ran for 389 performances while simultaneously playing on the road.) ..... Based on the W. SOMERSET MAUGHAM story, "Miss Thompson", the play starred VIVIAN BLAINE as "Sadie Thompson" and featured FRANK SCHOFELD, EDWARD JULIAN, MARY ANN LOWE, RICHARD FARMER, EMY BOSELLI, ART WATSON, CARMON CAPLINGER, BETTY GREEN, EDMUND JOHNSTON, GAETANNO MANNINO, PAT BENSON, DENNIS COONEY, ANGEL VAN HEEST, GENE TULLY, BILL PROSS, BEAU RYAN and JIM PURDY .....
